Finding a Puppy

Finding a responsibly bred American-line Doberman Pinscher is both challenging and expensive these days, so several of our club members have stepped up to help you make the best decision. Purchasing the right puppy is best done in person and with at least some background knowledge of the breeder’s program and the puppy’s relatives. As you begin your search, you’ll find that there are a ton of dogs out there, no breeding program is perfect, and opportunities can come and go quickly.

The Doberman Pinscher Club of America (DPCA) offers many helpful resources on this topic, including the Breeder Referral List. However, it can be difficult to keep these resources fully up to date or tailored to specific regions. For this reason, it can be especially valuable to speak with someone who already has their finger on the pulse of active breeders in Southern California.

If this sounds helpful, feel free to contact them members directly or reach out to info@dpcsc.org to connect with local experts: Bebe Michaels (Riverside County) or Marla Riviera (Los Angeles County).
