About Us

The Doberman Pinscher Club of Southern California is a 501(c)(3) non-profit chapter club of the Doberman Pinscher Club of America that is dedicated to promoting everything Doberman-related in and around California. Our sphere of influence spans from the West Coast to the South West of the United States, and we are continuing to grow.

The inception of this club is credited to John Neumeister, who, back in 2022 saw a void forming in the SoCal Doberman community, and made the effort to organize the active members. Around that time, the Aztec Doberman Pinscher Club of San Diego had decided to wind down operations after having been a club since 1967. With over 50 years of history in the Doberman world, many members of Aztec wanted to continue supporting the breed and to keep our regional traditions alive. For this reason much of our early success came with the help of these past Aztec members who took on some of the early club duties necessary for forming a new club.

We’re not just a rebranded Aztec though, with a new club comes a fresh start and an opportunity to attract newcomers and veterans from outside the region. Our formative membership includes people raising their first puppy to California transplants with decades of East Coast Doberman club operations experience.

Our largest club events of the year happen to be AKC conformation shows, as that is where the most interest lies for the average purebred Doberman owner in America, but we want to bring performance events back to the community. We’re starting off with AKC FastCAT events, but who knows what the future holds. Check back here to follow our events or become a member today to help us hold more.
