Update 2025 10-01:
And that’s a wrap for our second annual AKC FastCAT event. The weather over the weekend was fantastic, there was a nice breeze in the valley, and we had a great turn-out of wonderful dog teams. Even the park ranger participated with their lovely dobe. Much fun.
You can find the results of the events on the following AKC pages:
- Friday, September 12th
- Saturday, September 13th
- Sunday, September 14th
If you would like to purchase photos of your dog at this event, the professional Agiledogs Photography has posted them here on their smugmug.

Here’s a clip of what the course looked like on Friday morning as we were getting set up:
A better view of the course, and what the fancy “shadow box” that we put the FCAT awards into:

More cute trophies (Shoutouts Cris!):

Here’s a an Instagram posts made by one of the competitors, lovely 🐩 grooms!
Also, check out lola_the_papillon, little dogs can run too. (sorry for mispronouncing the breed name over the radio on Sunday!)

And, you can checkout Mother of Beasts K9 Training for her GSD posing with a shadow box
Thank you to all the participants, volunteers, park hosts, and organizers. This was a lot of work but everyone nailed it and made another event.
Stay tuned for more event details. We’re currently busy planning for the next Doberman Specialty, but come next year, we’ll be looking for another excuse to go coursing. 🤎🐾🖤

Don’t have an AKC registered dog? The AKC has a registration option for dogs that have exabit characteristics of a recognized breed, but were never registered. It’s called the Purebred Alternative Listing (PAL), it’s a cheap and easy way to gain eligibility for a bunch of AKC performance events.
